Yes, yes, I'm early for the End of the Month. But, with Mama Pea (http://ahomegrownjournal.blogspot.com/ sending batches of the white stuff my way, we are heading out early for the annual Spring Fling (also known as Trying to Find Sun and WARMTH SOMEWHERE!!!)
So far this month-EIGHT fully sunny days, and 4 Partly Sunny days --a huge improvement over the past two months. Six days fell below zero (and they happened on the sunny days!), with our lowest temp at -11. Blech.
We also had a "spring(haha)thaw Feb 16-18 with temps raising into the upper 40's. We lost an incredible 2 feet of snow in just 3 days. Of course, it was replaced soon after, but it felt good to feel warm. I got out and rearranged my garden workspace, just to have an excuse to be out. It was much needed.
I have sowed two flats of perennials indoors today that have germination times of 21+ days, so those will be hopefully starting to show themselves when we arrive home. The wintersown stuff on the deck is safely frozen-no action expected from them.
That's about it.
I will be posting a lot on my other blog ( http://thestuffthatkeepsmeawake.blogspot.com/ ), especially the first 3 days of March when we will be in Nebraska for the spring migration of the snow geese. I'm hoping to catch GOOD video of it this year. It's a MUST-SEE. Then it's on to sunny and WARM Mesa, AZ to see the grandson. From there, it's wherever the wind blows us. The housesitter is inhouse, the truck is packed and we are set to leave first thing in the morning.
Have a great month, everyone and Happy Trails to you!
